I’ll Be Home For Christmas….next year! 12.24.15

merry almost christmas everyone!!

it has been such a good week and i just love the christmas spirit that everyone has. temple square has been busier than ever with thousands of visitors here every night. seriously, when i get home at night, i just crash. i am so tired i can’t even explain it. even typing this makes me want to fall asleep.

not much happened this week. just lots of people. lots of tours. lots of contacting. we didn’t have much time in teaching center to call all of our investigators this week, but that is okay because most of my investigators are out of town and things like that. but daytona got baptized on saturday!! she was so happy. yay!

then Elder Rasband the newest apostle came to speak to us in sacrament meeting on sunday. that was really awesome. they have such a strong testimony and every time an apostle comes here, there is no way i can deny the fact that he is a man called of God. it is such a blessing that heavenly father does not leave us alone to figure out this life by ourselves. he has called these men to be special witnesses of our savior jesus christ. when he was here he said, “we know christs voice”. i think that is so amazing. this truly is Christs church. he is at the head of this church leading the work and leading each one of us. elder rasband talked about how the savior loves each of us one by one. he loves each of us individually. he knows each one of us personally. we are never alone because the savior is right by our side during every part of our lives and carrying us when we need it.

our mission goal for baptisms this year was 900. we only need 12 more baptisms for that to happen. it is the best to see each one of Heavenly Fathers children to return to him through baptism which is one of the most important steps we make in this life.

i am so thankful for this holiday season to truly reflect on my relationship with the savior. this is such a perfect time to recommit our lives to following him. to be his follower. to be his friend. to give our will completely to him. though being away from home at christmas time isn’t the best thing ever, there is no place i would rather be than serving the Lord and truly getting to know him better. i know him so much better and i am grateful for that.

i am excited for tomorrow. we will wake up and hangout with some of our mission friends and eat breakfast then open presents, then come to the square and skype our families!! then we will have a mission devotional. everyone is singing christmas songs in their language and then i get to do the best thing. a few of us have been given certain parts of “The Living Christ” to memorize, and we will each stand up and say our part of it, and some people will join in. then president will end it. then the square opens again.

here is part of the paragraph that i am reading: “Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine son”.

follow the savior and his perfect example is the only way that each of us can experience that hope of the world. he is the only way we can experience that true happiness. i love my savior. i am thankful for his perfect example. i am thankful that he is my brother and my friend. i love his perfect gospel. it has brought so much peace and happiness into my life, and it is my testimony that everyone can find that everlasting peace and happiness through his gospel.

i love each one of you! thank you for all of the letters and packages. you are making my christmas extra special. Watch this, “imagine a world without a savior” and then read the document, “The Living Christ”.  You will have a stronger testimony of the Savior this holiday season.

lots and lots of love!
Sister Clark
